Application Engineer (m/f/x)
with expertise in natural polymers
Start-Up, Full-Time Employment
Location: Hamburg / Buchholz in der Nordheide
Do you want to help us solve the global plastic pollution?
Are you an expert in product development in the plastics industry and looking to use your skills to create positive impact? Do you enjoy finding solutions for complex, new challenges? Are you interested in helping to build an ambitious start-up from the very beginning? Then we are looking for you!
Around 11 Mio. tons of plastic waste enters the oceans every year - that is about a truckload every minute. As plastics are designed to last nearly forever, they cause long-term environmental and marine pollution. Their production from mostly fossil raw materials causes lasting damage to our climate. Consumers, industry and politics are looking for solutions - we have one!
traceless materials is a young company – with huge potential! We have developed an innovative technology to produce a novel, advanced material from agricultural residues, which can substitute plastics in products that potentially end up in nature. Our products are 100% bio-based, do not compete with food production, are fully home compostable, have up to 87% lower CO2 emissions and are competitive in quality and price. Now we have to bring our mmaterials to market and replace as much plastic as possible. And this is where you come in!
As Application Engineer, you will help us to further optimize and develop our traceless materials. With your experience in both materials science and polymer converting techniques, you help us to make them applicable to a maximum array of applications to make the biggest possible contribution to solve the global plastic pollution. You will...
develop processing concepts in collaboration with our partners for the application of traceless materials as paper coatings
lead pilot test productions and preparations in close collaboration with our technology and product development teams
Help us gain an even deeper understanding of our materials as they are used in paper coating machines to understand their potential for optimization
Identify opportunities to optimize our material properties through changes in processing, additives and compounding, while maintaining their unique, holistic sustainability
You have a degree in material science, polymer engineering or similar with an applied research mindset
You have a sound technical understanding of natural polymer structures, interactions, processing techniques and polymer compounds
You have at least 3 years of technical experience in the field of natural polymers research and converting techniques
You are also practically minded and do not shy away from getting your hands dirty
You have experience in managing projects independently and are not afraid of tricky challenges
You are a team player with an ability to communicate directly and to the point and would like to develop traceless together with us into a worldwide player on the sustainable plastic substitutes market
You have entrepreneurial spirit, are reliable and keen to work in a start-up - with everything that includes
You're down-to-earth, direct, with a sense of humor
What we offer to you:
