K 2025: From Pioneering Vision to Industrial Reality – traceless® Driving the Biomaterial Revolution

Three years ago, we were part of K, the world’s biggest plastics and rubber trade fair, with a bold idea and an even bolder vision: a material that performs like plastic, but composts like nature. This year, we were back in Dusseldorf for K2025, to show how our vision is becoming industrial reality.

This change did not happen overnight, and is far from being over. Because for a big shift to take place, you need pioneers who dare to challenge the status quo, which is exactly what we have been doing at traceless®. Leading the way in the biomaterial movement is what drives us forward every day.

Every revolution follows certain stages – from the first spark of an idea to the moment the new order takes hold. At K 2025, we reflected on our own journey so far and the next steps in advancing the biomaterial revolution.

The Spark - Realizing the Plastic Problem Every revolution starts with awareness. The world has realized that the current system built on fossil-based plastics is no longer sustainable. Recycling and reduction alone cannot solve the problem in its entirety; what is needed are materials that truly fit into nature’s cycle. Over the past years, this awareness has grown rapidly across industries, politics, and society. The need for real, plastic-free alternatives is no longer a distant idea – it has become a shared demand. With our traceless® material, we aim to provide a scalable solution that truly fits into nature’s cycle.

The Uprising – Sharing a Vision with the Industry

Back in 2022 - a smaller booth, but the same big vision.
Back in 2022 - a smaller booth, but the same big vision.

At K 2022, we introduced traceless® to the global plastics industry. Our biobased, plastic-free, naturally compostable material, made from agricultural residues, gained early support and connected us with partners across the value chain. Through our patented process, we functionalize and granulate natural polymers to achieve thermoplastic properties – without chemical modification.

The Breakthrough – From Vision to Validation

Since then, we have optimized our process, refined material properties, and scaled our production to industrial scale. Today, traceless® materials can be processed on standard converting machines – from injection moulding and extrusion to paper coating – proving that sustainability and industrial performance can go hand in hand.

The Shift – K 2025 and the Movement in Motion

At K 2025, we could clearly feel that the shift is happening. The conversation has evolved from asking whether alternatives to plastic are possible to how we can scale them together. The fair showcased the sector’s innovation, resilience, and commitment to sustainability – reflected in its core themes of Shaping the Circular Economy, Embracing Digitalization, and Caring about People

As part of Shaping the Circular Economy, we presented how traceless® materials are entering real-world applications and how we are scaling production to meet growing demand.

At our booth, we demonstrated our different material grades and how they can already be used for a wide range of applications:

  • Injection moulded parts for rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible uses, such as dosage spoons for protein powders, baby formula, and supplements.

  • Paper coatings that provide barrier and sealing properties while remaining plastic-free and recyclable in the paper stream.

We also showcased joint developments with partners such as Hachtel Terneo, turning traceless® into real, market-ready products.

In addition, traceless® contributed to several panel discussions, sharing perspectives on circularity and the future of materials:

  • Biesterfeld Booth - Under Pressure – Roast of the Traditional Plastics Industry

  • Biesterfeld Booth - Circularity Panel

Across all discussions, one message was clear: the plastics industry is ready for change, and traceless® is helping to lead it.

Or, as one of our Sales Managers, Michael, summarized:

“K 2025 was an incredible opportunity to connect with partners from around the world and showcase how traceless® materials are ready for industrial-scale applications. The level of engagement confirmed that the industry is looking for sustainable, scalable alternatives. It’s inspiring to see that our work is not just a concept, but a growing movement.”

The New Order – Join the Biomaterial Revolution

Every revolution leads to transformation. What once was an idea becomes the new normal. At traceless, we are working towards a world where the materials we use impact positively on the planet, making pollution and waste history. A world where industry and nature work together, not against each other.

This is the new normal we are building and we’d love to invite you to be part of it.

Let’s explore how traceless® can fit into your product portfolio, and join the biomaterial revolution!
