Injection Moulding
traceless® granulate as a biobased and compostable injection moulding alternative - a plastic-free and thermoplastic material, based on natural polymers, processable like plastics on existing injection moulding production lines.
traceless® opens up new possibilities for sustainable injection moulding: a plastic-free, bio-based material based on natural, non-chemically polymerized polymers that can be processed on existing production lines while delivering environmental benefits.
Developed for industrial requirements, it combines thermoplastic processability with sustainable material performance - making it particularly suitable for applications where short product lifecycles or limited recyclability play a role.
PROCESSING AND MACHINE COMPATIBILITY
traceless® is designed for industrial injection moulding processes:
Processable on standard injection moulding machines (hydraulic & fully electric, e.g. Arburg, Engel, JSW)
Compatible with cold-runner and hot-runner systems
Good flowability (MFR > 15 g/10 min at 120 °C / 5 kg)
Suitable for multi-cavity moulds
Processing temperatures of approx. 110–130 °C — lower than many conventional plastics
Comparable processing parameters to standard polymers
Reduced thermal load and lower energy consumption during operation
→ Enables integration on existing production lines without major modifications
MATERIAL COMPOSITION AND PROCESSING POTENTIAL
traceless® is a fully plastic-free injection moulding material, as it is based on natural polymers derived from agricultural residues.
Through a patented process, these polymers are extracted from the residues without chemical polymerisation, resulting in a thermoplastic material.
The material can then be compounded with other bio-based and biologically degradable components to achieve different functional properties.
It is suitable for industrial injection moulding processing - without chemical modification or synthetic polymerisation.
INDUSTRIAL IMPLEMENTATION
traceless® has been developed with a strong focus on scalability and industrial applicability:
Tested in pilot trials with injection moulding partners
Production currently scaling up in Hamburg-Harburg
Enables integration into existing product portfolios and production lines
→ traceless® can be readily integrated into existing production environments
SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE
traceless® offers clear environmental advantages:
Certified 100% biobased - on natural polymers derived from agricultural residues
Certified plastic-free (SUPD compliant)
Certified home-compostable (NF T 51-800)
Up to 91% lower CO₂ emissions over production and disposal compared to conventional plastics
Made in Germany – developed and produced in Germany with a secure supply chain
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
traceless® is suited for targeted sustainable injection moulding applications where material performance and environmental requirements align.
It is not designed as a direct 1:1 replacement for conventional plastics, but rather for use cases where sustainability is a key consideration:
Rigid and semi-rigid products with shorter product lifetimes
Single-use or temporary applications
Injection moulded parts that are difficult to recycle
Applications with a risk of environmental leakage
Products in areas with increasing regulatory pressure on plastics
