AN INNOVATIVE
NATURAL POLYMER TECHNOLOGY

Turning natural polymers into an industrially processable material

We combine the benefits of nature's materials with industrial processing opportunities: Natural polymers like Cellulose, starch, and proteins have been nature's building blocks for millions of years. Traditionally, they are used for paper or cotton, but not as direct plastic substitutes - in their raw form, they are brittle, water-soluble, and lack the thermoplastic properties that many industrial manufacturing processes need.

That's the gap traceless® set out to close: making natural polymers industrially processable, and paving the road for next generation natural polymer industries.

Our patented extraction process

With our patented process technology, we extract natural polymers from agricultural residues. Through this process, we rearrange the natural polymers so they gain thermoplastic properties, without chemical modification or synthetic polymerization.

The result is a new category of materials: A thermoplastic natural-polymer based material that can be used as a direct plastic substitute. traceless® materials can be integrated into existing production lines, from injection moulding to film and paper extrusion and hot melt technologies.

The traceless® materials are produced as granulates -

bio-based, home-compostable, and by definition not plastic.

INDUSTRIAL BREAKTHROUGH FOR NEXT GENERATION
NATURAL POLYMERS

Production at commercial scale for global partners

Our production facility located in Hamburg-Harburg is the world's first industrial plant of its kind, marking a milestone for emerging natural polymer industries.

Spanning approximately 4,000 square meters, the facility brings together production, sales, product and technology development, as well as logistics and administration. With a capacity of approximately 3,000 tons of traceless® material per year, the facility will serve renowned pioneering customers, such as the paper and packaging manufacturer Mondi, the e-commerce company OTTO, and the distribution partner Biesterfeld.

The facility officially opened in May 2026 in the presence of almost 200 stakeholders from across industry, science and politics, including Federal Environment Minister Carsten Schneider and Hamburg's Senator for the Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture Katharina Fegebank.

Cutting-edge process technology

The process technology has been developed in-house and sets new standards for sustainability and efficiency:

  • Circular economy: closed-loop principle and full raw material valorization, resulting in virtually zero waste.

  • Renewable Sourcing: Based on renewable raw materials, fostering local supply chains.

  • Carbon Reduction: Reduces CO2 emissions by 91% across both production and disposal phases.

  • Electrification: Process designed for 100% electrification at full industrial scale.

  • Cutting-Edge Cleantech: Utilizes state-of-the-art, sustainable heating and cooling systems.

OUR CERTIFICATES

traceless® base material is certified biobased (DIN geprüft, 100% biobased carbon content), Home Compostable (DIN Geprüft), plastic-free (flustix). Furthermore, it is tested marine degradable and tested on PFAs and pesticides.
Specific applications are approved for food contact.
